A Bill Clinton appointed district court judge has sided with the Detroit-area suburb Hamtramck after the all-Muslim city council banned the flying of LGBT flags in the city.
Yes, in this case the left-wing Muslims who make up a large Detroit voting bloc, won out over the gays.

U.S. District Judge David Lawson dismissed a lawsuit against Hamtramck, two years after the city council voted to allow only five flags, including the American flag, the Michigan flag and flags that 'represent the international character' of residents. The city is known for welcoming immigrants.
You cannot make this up.
So, the judge ruled it was A-okay that the city made an ordinance allowing only the US flag, the Michigan flag, and various other Muslim flags, despite the fact that the all-Muslim council expressed particular disgust for the LGBT flag.
It created quite a stink in 2023:
I'd like to see a judge make this same ruling if the third flag allowed was the Christian flag. But I somehow doubt it would make it past any Democrat-appointed judge.
Critics of the new policy said Hamtramck was violating free speech. But Lawson said the city's policy was OK because it bans all private flags not just some.
'Hamtramck's refusal to display the Gay Pride flag did not violate the Constitution,' the judge said Monday.
Yes, it bans ALL private flags.
Except, you know, the flags of foreign (mostly Muslim) countries.
