There's a LOT of controversy around this video of Vivek from his campaign for governor of Ohio, and one of his potential Democrat opponents has pounced.
Here's the clip shared by Dr. Amy Acton, who is running for governor of Ohio as a Democrat:
Yes, Dr. Acton is accusing Vivek of proposing year-round school, with no summer or winter breaks, as a way to make childcare more affordable.
But many on the right accused the Democrat of using an AI video to smear Vivek:
As you can see by the Community Notes, there's one problem with this accusation:
Yeah ... it's not actually AI.
Vivek really said this!
He really proposed year-round school!
To be fair, the original post from Amy Acton had been flagged on X, which might be the "proposed Community Note" link Tim Pool clicks on in the video up there.
It also looks like the video Pool showed us was a product of this 👇
Vivek pulled the original video after Acton's clip and cut the part about year-round school, which led to even more confusion and more people defending Vivek as if he was a victim of a false smear.
But no, that was really his proposal. Until he realized how bad it played.
The Columbus Dispatch also confirmed the authenticity of the video and Vivek's campaign's refusal to dispute its authenticity.
Yeah ...

And you can see why Vivek was quick to delete the new school plan with the reaction it garnered:
A rocky start for the Ramaswamy campaign...
