Police in Cocoa Beach, Florida, received a call last week concerning a house party where 100 children wearing identical t-shirts were consuming alcohol.
The house belonged to Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, the elementary principal at Roosevelt Elementary School.
One child was suffering from an 'alcohol-related medical event' on the principal's lawn. The kid was 'so heavily intoxicated' that the Brevard County Fire Rescue was called to treat the child, police said.
Officers saw Hill-Brodigan in her driveway turning off the outside lights before walking into her home. That meant the fire rescue team had to use their vehicle's auxiliary lights while treating the child with the medical episode, police said.
It's not clear if the children at the party were students at Roosevelt or older, since one minor who was attending the party was arrested for a DUI. These older kids could, however, be former students of the school.
But what is clear is that Hill-Brodigan wasn't the only person from Roosevelt Elementary hosting the party.
Another 'intoxicated' Roosevelt Elementary teacher — Karly Anderson — approached the officers at the scene, telling them she was a teacher and had been at the party, police said.
Roosevelt Elementary has placed both the women on administrative leave, aka bad-teacher paid vacation.
'Both employees have been immediately placed on administrative leave pending the results of an active police investigation,' the school district said. 'We are extremely troubled by these accusations and are fully cooperating with the Cocoa Beach Police Department. Our commitment to student safety remains our top priority.'
Now, this next part is really perplexing:
The two women were each handed one felony charge of child neglect and one misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
For 100 kids tho?
