In partnership with Tipsy Scoop, an ice cream maker that specializes in alcoholic ice cream, brewer giant Miller has created an ice cream bar that recreates the tastes of a dive bar.

On its website, Tipsy Scoop says,

To celebrate dive bars and the 100th anniversary of the ice cream bar we partnered with Miller High Life to create the Ice Cream Dive Bar, taking all the best parts of the dive bar IRL and bringing them to your taste buds.

What exactly would it taste like to lick the counter at a dive bar??

  • Of course, there'd be beer. Every ice cream bar is infused with Miller High Life: 5% alcohol by volume. This isn't a dessert for kids.
  • To get the full effect of drinking a beer, the ice cream bars have a sprinkle of carbonated candy to simulate foam in every bite.
  • Next up, every good dive bar has a bowl of salty peanuts to keep you good and thirsty, so a good dive ice cream bar has salty peanuts too.
  • The counter at a dive bar is usually pretty sticky after so many years of never cleaning it, so the ice cream bars have a sticky caramel swirl.
  • And to recreate the ambience of a dark, foreboding hole where you can drown your sorrows, the ice cream bars are dipped in dark chocolate.

Actually, it doesn't sound too bad; I might actually try one of these.

But it seems like I'm forgetting something. That thing that makes dive bars, quintessentially dive bar-esque. What is it?

Oh, right! Cigarettes!

Every ice cream bar is also infused with tobacco-smoke flavor to simulate the cigarette ashes that never made it to the ash trays. Now, the experience of licking a dive bar counter is complete.
