Mark Zuckerberg is copying someone's work...

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, rolled out its new paid subscription service today in the US. It allows users to add a verified badge on their Instagram and Facebook accounts for a fee of $11.99 per month on web and $14.99 per month on mobile.

The new service, called Meta Verified, comes with "exclusive stickers" on Facebook and Instagram Stories and Facebook Reels, along with 100 "Stars" per month that subscribers can use to show their support for other creators. It also includes "proactive impersonation protection and direct access to customer support."

In addition to the monthly fee, interested subscribers must complete the verification process and provide a government-issued photo ID to confirm their identity, and two-factor authentication is also required.
