Famed quarterback Joe Montana still has the moves, rescues grandchild from kidnapper

Ol' Joe, now 64, isn't done making great plays. And this last one might be the most important play of his life.

While home with his wife and 9 month old grandchild Saturday evening, a female intruder entered his Malibu residence and snatched his sleeping grandchild right out its playpen.

The Montanas tried reasoning with her, with "Joe Cool" asking her calmly to hand the child back to them. She refused and a struggle ensued, at which time Jennifer, Joe's wife, was able to wrestle the child away from the kidnapper.

The intruder, identified as Sodsai Dalzell, fled the scene but was later captured and charged with kidnapping and burglary.

In a Tweet following the arrest, Montana extended gratitude to "everyone who has reached out."

"Scary situation, but thankful that everybody is doing well. We appreciate respect for our privacy at this time."

Looks like the former 49ers Hall of Famer is still a hero, on the field and off.
