Black woman forfeits dart tournament after being matched against white trans opponent

Oh man, the progressives are going to love pulling out their intersectional oppression chart for this one!

A black woman just forfeited a dart match after being matched up with a white male opponent during a women's tournament in Denmark.

This isn't just some random lady who forfeited; this woman is a "Protect Women's Sports" diehard.

A female darts player has forfeited her match against a trans-identified male in a protest of his participation in the women's category. Deta Hedman refused to play against Noa-Lynn Van Leuven during the Denmark Open quarter-final yesterday.

Hedman, of Whitham, UK, is a three-time WDF World Champion runner-up, and has been a fixture in the women's darts world since the 1980s, having played in both the World Masters and the Dutch Open amongst her numerous other career highlights.

Hedman's latest match was the Denmark Open in Esbjerg, where she was due to compete against Van Leuven in the quarter-finals. But Hedman refused to play against Van Leuven, taking a strong stance against male participation in women's sports. As a result, Van Leuven was sent straight through to the semi-finals.

A 2023 statement from Hedman detailed her struggle to put women's darts on the map early in her career, when finally,

[T]he WDF stepped up to the plate and Ladies top prize went up to £25,000, and whilst on the WDF board myself and others got the agreement for the first ever Girls World championship which I'm very proud of. So after years of struggle women got the right to showcase their skills on the World Stage. Then came the acceptance of trans women being allowed to play in Women's sports by WDF, PDC, county darts and independent events.

I have thought this is wrong since day one, I have no problem with Transgenders in life, I'm not close to Noa Lynn in darts but in fairness seems a lovely person, at Lakeside I met Victoria Monaghan and must admit she is a right character we had banter and a fair few laughs at lakeside, but my personal view is trans shouldn't be playing in Womens ranked events.

This woman, along with her colleagues, worked her butt off to popularize women's darts and raise the prize money and now it's all being flushed down the drain with the allowance of male participation in the category.

It's like a microcosm of how transgenderism has hijacked the feminist movement.

Hedman also declined this offer from Riley Gaines 👇

Good on Gains for reaching out, though!

And look at this, the guy she forfeited against, he lost big time against males in the open tournament:

Facing off against the history-making Pro Tour debutant, Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who is the first trans athlete to compete at a Players Championship event, Anderson's experience proved key as the 'Flying Scotsman' powered towards a dominant and comprehensive 6-0 win.

That's what happens when you compete against your biological gender!

A little more background on the women's darts side of this:

Hedman is not the first female darts player to refuse to compete against Van Leuven.

As previously reported by Reduxx, two female darts players from the Netherlands dropped out of the Dutch Women's Team in response to Van Leuven's inclusion.

Aileen de Graaf and Anca Zijlstra sent shockwaves through the sport after they both announced their departure in March, with the women no longer wanting to form a team with Noa-Lynn Van Leuven.

Zijlstra issued a statement revealing she would be stepping back after Van Leuven dominated the Women's Series tournament on March 23, beating Zijlstra 4-0 and seizing the Series Title 2 from Ireland's Katie Sheldon in the final round.

That same month, Van Leuven became the first "woman" to win a Challenger Tour, seizing a £2,500 cash prize with a victory over former Premier League Darts competitor John Henderson in the quarter-finals.

Good for these ladies.

We could all learn a little something from them.

Let's all be more like Deta Hedman and,
