DeSantis says “no” to rainbow bridges for Pride Month. They will be lit red, white, and blue instead.

Uber-based Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has put the Ix-Nay on rainbow lights for bridges this June during Pride Month.

Instead, all bridges in Florida, which have colored lights, will be lit up in Red, White, and Blue.

The move comes as a measure to celebrate the state's "2024 Florida Freedom Summer" initiative that runs from May 27 - September 2.

And that means that in addition to Pride Month in June, several other LGBTQ days will not get bridge lights, including:

  • Week of July 14: Nonbinary Awareness Week, culminates in International Nonbinary People's Day on July 14
  • July 16: International Drag Day
  • August 14: Gay Uncles Day
  • August 20: Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Of course the media is all kinds of big mad about the mandate.

They would much rather force the entire state to celebrate the endless trove of LGBTQ holidays that keep getting invented.

Gay Uncle's Day?

Be serious!

Keep up the good work governor!
