We know automation in cars has gotten much better lately, but this still seems like a bad idea.

The video appears to show an F450 on the highway with some sort of weight placed on the steering wheel. The camera pans back to show the driver resting in the backseat.

The reactions to the video are unsurprising:

While this was clearly a social media stunt, there does seem to be an epidemic of drivers dozing off and letting the self-driving algorithm do the work.

Yikes. 😬

Luckily, it seems Tesla is already addressing this with sensors to wake you up and pull off the road if you fall asleep.
