Former chair of the Jan. 6 committee tells CNN he doesn’t think anyone on the committee had access to the Jan. 6 footage

In somewhat shocking but oddly believable news, U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, the former chair of the January 6th committee, says that no one on the committee had access to the videos from January 6th.

Now that is an odd statement given his previous statement to CNN:

"Now he's [Tucker Carlson's] saying to the public, 'Who're you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes?' I believe what the film says. It was in fact an insurrection."

Now check out this thread from CNN reporter Alayna Treene.

They were literally reading all their talking points off of teleprompters with carefully edited footage, that none of them had reviewed first hand. It was just spoon-fed to them by television producer James Goldston and other staff members.

That makes one wonder if the January 6th defendants had the opportunity to review the footage in preparing their defense at trial.

The answer to that would also be NO.

U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg is pushing through dozens of trials before the accused can review the footage for new evidence in their cases.

He told the defense attorneys they would have to demonstrate how the footage would help their clients before he would give them time to review it.

And this next part would be funny if it weren't.

It turns out not even the prosecutors were able to access the footage.

They say justice is blind, but this is just sickening!

However, House Republicans have volunteered the chance for those awaiting trial and those already sentenced to review all the tapes in case something might help them in appeal.

What a debacle!
