Former Dutch prime minister and wife, both 93, end lives with double assisted suicide

This isn't cute; it's not a sign of "true love;" it's not anything besides a suicide — two suicides.

Like, why is suicide (I refuse to call it euthanasia) so popular these days?

Abortion was enough, but now we're all supposed to get on board with suicide?

No thanks!

Yet here we're supposed to be all mushy about some former Dutch prime minister and his wife ending their lives hand-in-hand. Look at this reporting.

The former Dutch prime minister held his wife's hand as the pair passed away peacefully in what is being called a double euthanasia.

Dries Van Agt, the head of state from 1977 to 1982, was buried beside his wife Eugenie, 93, after they made the unprecedented decision to die together. Both were gravely ill, with van Agt, also 93, having suffered a life-changing brain haemorrhage in 2019. The ultra-rare "duo euthanasia" was announced by the Rights Forum, a charity founded by van Agt.

A spokesperson for the non-profit said: 'He died hand in hand with his beloved wife Eugenie van Agt-Krekelberg. She was the support and anchor with whom he was together for more than 70 years. He always continued to refer to her as "my girl''

The couple met as art students and were married for an incredible 65 years.

Bro essentially just killed his wife, and you want me to celebrate this?

Pro-death people will look at this story and it will inspire them. Pro-death couples will talk about this romantic last date on Valentine's Day and vow to go the same way when they hit old age (or even earlier).

Pro-life people like myself will remind you that suicide is suicide, no matter how you try to dress it up. If you can't live without your spouse then you'll just have to hope you die first; I don't know what to tell you.

But suicide is not the answer. And again, that's all this is — killing yourself.
