In Switzerland, apparently, you can't just call 'em as you see 'em.
Not without risking jail time.
This Swiss journalist, Alain Soral, was just sentenced to 60 days in jail because he made fun of a lady, calling her a "fat lesbian."
His lawyers are calling it "a crime of opinion" and bemoaning that people can't just say whatever opinion they have, even if it isn't politically correct.
Here's a photo of the LGBT activist who was at the receiving end of the "illegal" insult. I'll let you make up your mind if you think this was a mischaracterization worthy of jail time.
I'm not saying a word.
Lefties and LGBT activists are, of course, thrilled that a man they disagree with is being thrown in to jail for vocally opposing them:
"This court decision is an important moment for justice and rights of LGBTQI people in Switzerland," said Murial Waeger, co-director of a lesbian activist group. "The conviction of Alain Soral is a strong signal that homophobic hatred cannot be tolerated in our society."
Meanwhile, NBC News framed it this way:
The Tolerant Left!
We should all be loving and tolerant of all opinions, and if you disagree with that...
