Imagine dropping 100 G's on a video game!
Game developer Blizzard/Activision released Diablo: Immortal in July, and players have found the amount of play time it takes to level-up their characters is insane.
Knowing that the difficult grind might be an issue for some of its customers, Blizzard/Activision graciously included in-game purchases that can be used to level-up characters.
(In other words, it's a feature not a bug.)
Want to max out your character in the game? Players figure it could run upwards of $600K.
The strategy has worked. Blizzard/Activision reported that the game made $24 million in its first month.
One content creator, "jtisallbusiness" or "JT" claims to have spent upwards of $100,000 on upgrading his character already.
Now that's he's super powerful, however, the game's matchmaking algorithms can't find anyone at his level for him to play with.
So what's his plan?
Why, sue the company of course!
I'll be honest here. I've never played any of the Diablo games and probably never will, but I sure as spitfire wouldn't shell out the price of a house to play the game.
However, if jtisallbusiness is reading this and still wants someone to play with, I'd happily be your friend for $100K.
