The following rifle comes from a company called Wee1 Tactical, which exists to "safely help adults introduce children to the shooting sports."
It's also apparently a "VILE"... "WEAPON OF WAR"!!!!
With homelessness, addiction, and violent crime destroying the state of California, you'd think the governor wouldn't be going after a company that exists to teach kids gun safety and marksmanship.
But that aside, think about this: It's a 2.5 lb kid-sized .22 LR rifle with an enhanced safety that looks like a squirt gun in a grown man's arms:
The point of this weapon is to help kids become familiar with guns without having to use a full-scale rifle:
Look at how much better this "JR-15" fits a kid:
But since this stupid phrase "weapons of war" keeps popping up, let me enlighten you to the fact that the muskets of 1776 were cutting-edge "weapons of war" when the Second Amendment enshrined the God-given right to self defense.
- Do you know why cars and planes look a certain way? Because a century of engineering has directed us to the most effective design and form.
- Do you know why a computer is built the way it is? Because of decades of engineering has directed us to the most effective design and form.
- Do you know why modern rifles look like the Armalite Rifle platform and not 18th-century rifles? Because centuries of engineering has directed us to the most effective design and form.
Here's a reminder about the importance of teaching everyone (including kids) to fight, courtesy of America's founders:
- "[W]hereas, to preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them..." โ Richard Henry Lee
- "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
- "A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies." โ George Washington
- "[I]f circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens." โ Alexander Hamilton
Thanks for the promo, governor! My kids are gonna love this!
