Government agents are searching this Amish farmer's home after a multi-year quest to destroy him. I guess there's nothing more important happening right now?

Man, imagine if our tax dollars were used with such brutal efficiency to, say, close the border.

Thomas Massie (R-KY) had some thoughts:

If you haven't heard about Amos Miller, we covered the organic Amish farmer last year:

His cattle roam free and eat natural plants instead of processed feed, and he butchers them himself instead of using FDA-approved processing plants.

Because of this, the federal government has hit him with over $300,000 in fines and ordered him to stop farming the land that has been cultivated for generations across the centuries.

There's a place for consumer regulations. Then there's... this.

If I want to buy unregulated meat from an Amish farmer who is using the same techniques as his great-something grandpappy from the 1700s, and I am aware that this isn't approved by the FDA (which is the selling point for his customers!), WHY IN THE HECK CAN'T I?

Well, I'm glad the state and federal authorities are spending a good chunk of taxpayer money on the salaries of agents who have been tasked with destroying an Amish farmer in the Midwest.

Goodness knows there isn't anything else the nanny state could be protecting us from right now!
