Disney is led by super woke groomers and they've pretty much ruined Star Wars to boot—
—But at least their trailers give me hope that there's still something good left in their Dark-Side corporate infrastructure.
Check out the new trailer for the Kenobi series that drops later this month:
Ugh, all I want is Obi-Wan and Vader.
Like 6 hours of Obi-Wan and Vader.
More Obi-Wan and Vader than the human mind can physically handle.
You can mess with the future of the galaxy, you can turn iconic heroes into Mouse-House weirdos, you can make billion-dollar movies with no plot cohesion whatsoever, and you can make spinoffs where Lando Calrissian is in love with a robot.
But the one thing you cannot do is mess with the core character of Anakin Skywalker, or the tragedy that surrounds him and his former master.
This is deep, epic, emotional stuff – the type of haunting betrayal and brokenness (and ultimately, redemption) that's foundational in all the best lore, from Homer's Iliad to Shakespeare's Macbeth to the story of Judas turning on Christ. Even if this is a show about space wizards, it's the classic retelling of a tale that supremely matters to the story of humanity and to each of our souls.
So... no pressure, Disney.
But we all know Obi-Wan.
We know what an Obi-Wan series should feel like in our bones. You did some slick editing on the trailer, but I'm still 1,000% skeptical that you aren't sticking some hidden agenda or intersectional soy ideology in the plot!
