In an unexpectedly realistic visit to a haunted house in Ohio, an 11-year-old boy was stabbed in the foot by an actor who opted to use a real knife instead of one of the props provided by the haunted house.

Add this to the list of reasons I won't be attending a haunted house this Halloween. Or ever.

The 11-year-old and a friend were walking up to the haunted house when the 22-year-old actor began stabbing the ground near them in an effort to scare them. But a misjudged stab went through the boy's shoe, cutting his toe.

After receiving first aid, the boy opted to proceed with the haunted house.

According to the Cleveland News,

The actor acknowledged to police that using a real knife was not a good idea. He said he didn't intend to hurt anyone. Police confiscated the knife.

And in a closing paragraph that seems very irrelevant, but adds a lot of entertainment value, the Cleveland News added,

Later, the actor's mother called, saying she wanted the knife returned. Police told her they would hold onto the knife, and if no charges were filed against her son, they would give it back.

I'm really glad to know that the 22-year-old actor's mom is taking responsibility for his actions. Or at least for the knife he probably took from her kitchen.
