The results are in, and after a survey of Americans, each state's favorite pie flavor for Thanksgiving has been revealed!
Per Google:
Unsurprisingly, the most widely popular was pumpkin, being enjoyed from coast to coast. The only variation was in two geographical pockets, with the northeast favoring apple pie, which makes sense considering the area's apple production.
And of course, the South showed a penchant for pecan pie, as they should. Please note the absence of "peecan" pie on this map. No one should be eating that.
Axios put together a more interesting map of the most uniquely popular pies compared to the national averages.
The "other" category shows up frequently in this map, which is probably where the interesting local traditions are hiding.
French silk also makes a great showing, and if you've visited the freezer section of the grocery store lately, you know why.
It's just hard to beat a pre-made pie that you don't even have to heat up.
Keep that in mind next time you're asked to bring paper plates or ice to the family gathering. You can up your game to thawing a frozen pie and suddenly become the life of the party.
If you can't decide which flavor of pie is #1 in your heart, just do what I do and eat a sliver of each one.
