You don't realize how long 30 or so seconds is until you see two world leaders engaged in a show of bravado on the world stage, refusing to be the first to release the handshake.
Trump and Macron are a couple of strong-willed people.
12 seconds of shaking, with a pivot in the middle, then the hands readjusted. Macron added a second hand to parry Trump's continual pull. Macron then attempted to pull away AND push Trump's arm away, before eventually relenting.
