I guess I have to hand it to my conspiracy theorist friends. Again.

Health and Human Services has announced that they are "restoring integrity and transparency" when it comes to the organ donation system. 👇

So ... what's this all about? Secretary Kennedy has the very disturbing answer.

Apparently, it is common practice to push for taking organs before it's even known if a patient will make a recovery. Kennedy says this lack of respect for the sanctity of life is widespread.

Time is of the essence when harvesting organs. It has to be done with tremendous urgency. But it sounds like some are a little overzealous.

Though they can be taken after death if the organs are considered viable, taking them before tissue death is preferred. This means "prime" organs are routinely sourced from those who have been pronounced clinically dead (usually established by measuring brain activity).

The Mayo Clinic says any rumors of abuse are just "tabloid" myths, but the U.S. government now says doctors are harvesting organs in a system that financially incentivizes the abuse of this practice (AKA killing people who aren't actually dead). Kennedy says organ procurement companies "must be held accountable."

Stare directly at this quote from The New York Times just this week:

Something to think about if you have that "organ donor" box checked on your driver's license!
