Hollywood in shambles: China to escalate trade war by banning American films

Hollywood was already crumbling, but this one's gonna hurt.

China is reportedly planning to retaliate for Trump's tariffs by banning American films, a move that could cost Hollywood half a billion in box office revenue.

The move will cost upcoming summer blockbusters like Jurassic World: Rebirth and Mission Impossible to lose out on millions, according to the report.

Here's the thing though - could this actually be a good thing?

China's financial leverage seems to allow them the ability to control the messaging of Hollywood.

Who can forget the time John Cena was forced to apologize to the commies for calling Taiwan a country?

Here's that hard-to-watch video:

Or what about the time Disney thanked a Chinese concentration camp for its assistance in the filming of Mulan:

Or the time they removed ethnic minorities from movie posters:

It might be a financial hit to Hollywood, but would it be a huge boost to the quality of our films?
