CJ Stroud on taming the tongue in a secular world: "I can't proclaim that I love God and have a wild mouth."

CJ Stroud seems like he's one of the real ones.

The man is a Christian, he wears his faith on his sleeve, but sometimes, like all of us, he wears his emotions on his sleeve as well.

Watch the young QB talk about the book of James and God's call to tame the tongue.

I'm trying to stop [cursing], I'm trying to just hold back. Not only am I doing it for myself, but also, like, I can't proclaim to love God and have a wild mouth. That doesn't make sense to me. It's hypocritical ... I read over James 3 last night and went over the devotion on the way to work this morning ... I am a youth in this walk and I want to learn more ...

I don't know where it started, but I know it needs to stop ... When I get emotional about football ... I start to play the game, or like feed into the profanity, and I'm like, I caught it and I'm like hold on this isn't right.

What a role model for young kids to look up to.

Heck, in the position he's in he should be an inspiration to all of us who have a tough time taming the tongue.

You've gotta respect where he's coming from.
