How am I just learning that the Pacific Ocean is "closing up" and creating a new "supercontinent"?

I swear, I guess I got to read the periodicals more, because this is catching me totally off-guard.

The Pacific Ocean is closing in on itself and will form a new supercontinent called Amasia, according to scientists.

The experts in Australia say the Pacific Ocean is slowly but consistently getting smaller, perhaps by around one inch a year.

As it does so, the tectonic plates on which the Americas rest get pushed westwards.

Yeah I'm glad I was informed of this because I often go sailing on the Pacific and if I wasn't aware of a "new supercontinent" out there I could end up in a nasty crash.

Oh well hold on a second, we have a little time:

At some point โ€“ albeit not for for 200 or 300 million years โ€“ the Earth's landmasses will come together with the Americas and Asia colliding to create a new supercontinent: Amasia.

I'm pretty sure Jesus is comin' back before that, so hopefully you're all here with Harambe in the new heavens and the new earth by then!
