It happens every once in a while: The political party built on self-actualization and "liberation" from God sometimes likes to dust off the Good Book to try to dunk on Republicans.

Alternative headline:

I don't have time to exposit the entirety of chapter 25 of Matthew's gospel right now, so I'll let the comments explain in meme form why Sen. Markey is so off base.

Translation: When Jesus explained how His disciples should give personal charity to fellow Christians, he was not talking about the government-mandated importation of tens of millions of foreigners who hold beliefs and values that are antithetical to the Bible's teachings.

And yet Markey often uses the Bible's teachings about financial giving to stump for government social programs funded through compulsory taxation. He once told Boston magazine:

My basic text for everything I do is the Sermon on the Mount. Blessed are the poor. That's Medicaid. Blessed are the elderly. That's Medicare. Blessed are the children. That's Head Start. Blessed are those in prison. That's making sure we don't imprison a whole generation of African-Americans the way we did with the crack cocaine epidemic.

Time to break out a rare GIF from The Last Jedi:

If Sen. Markey, who professes to be a Catholic, wants to put Jesus' words into action, he should offer up his home and assets (he is worth several million) to help suffering Christian brothers and sisters in countries like Nigeria before using God's Word to lecture the American public about Marx-adjacent immigration policy.
