"If Jesus Christ was alive today, he would be called a groomer" ... Fact Check: Nope.

Get my Savior's name out yo' freaking mouth!

"I have said this before and I'll say it again. If Jesus Christ was alive today, he would be called a groomer. He would be called woke. And he would be called socialist," said Matthew Dowd, former chief strategist for the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign.

"Was alive"?

You knew it was gonna go off the rails the second that came out of his mouth.

I've heard the claims of Jesus being woke and socialist countless times. But I honestly have no clue where Dowd is getting this idea that Jesus would be called a groomer.

Now, people say stupid stuff about Jesus all the time (e.g., that his love is "reckless"). So, yeah, I'm sure there are people today that would call Jesus a "groomer" for no good reason.

The question is whether it would be correct to call Jesus a groomer. And the answer to that is an obvious "No."

I suppose a somewhat clever heretic or demon would use this passage to present Jesus as a "groomer," except it shows us that Jesus truly loves children and wants to protect them.

And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, "Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

- Mark 10:13-16 (ESV)

Jesus loves the little children. That's why he hates it when they are caused to sin.

Here's Jesus saying groomers should do us all a favor by drowning themselves in the ocean instead of causing little ones to sin:

"[W]hoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."

Pretty based. I love this Jesus.

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven."

"[I]t is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."

-- Matthew 18:5โ€“6, 10, 14 (ESV)

Jesus is 100% AGAINST grooming little ones to sin and opposes whoever causes little ones to sin. Period.
