Two men in Louisiana were arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the Camp Pollock federal prison, which, truthfully, seems to be a pretty common occurrence.

Earlier this year, five people were arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the same prison using drones.

But the way Jose Francisco Herrera Munoz and Angel Gonzales Gutierrez did it was certainly unique.

They used an air cannon (think T-shirt launcher).

The two were planning on smuggling $112,000 worth of tobacco and $89,500 of methamphetamine into the prison by using a cannon to shoot the items over a security fence. The cannon has a range of shooting items over 350 feet.

That's kind of ingenious when you think about it.

The right T-shirt cannon can really launch some tightly packed materials if you know what I mean. Just look at this baby for example:

The not-so-bright side of air delivery into a prison with a T-shirt cannon is that those things are pretty loud.

The Grant Parish Sheriff's Department showed up and put an end to the novel smuggling operation pretty quickly.

Grant Parish Sheriff Steven McCain says they weren't successful.

'Thanks to a very observant deputy, he was able to stop it before they were able to get the drugs into the prison.'

The two men were charged with attempting to smuggle narcotics into a penal institution, and Munoz landed himself a date with ICE since he's not in the country legally.

On the plus side, Munoz may have devised a great new method for Tom Homan to deport illegal-immigrant criminals from the country:
