Naperville, Illinois, city council man Josh McBroom floated the idea of housing the influx of illegal immigrants in private residences, just like New York City Mayor Adams did a short time ago.

When I first heard about McBroom's proposal, I thought he was trolling because he starts out the discussion sounding very conservative.

"In the event of a massive influx of migrants, I do believe our city is prepared," Councilman McBroom said. "The public should also know taxpayer dollars are not, and will not, be used to house any potential migrants in the neighborhood. There's been some misinformation out there."

No taxpayer dollars will be used to house migrants. Nice.

But then he goes off the compassionate rails and starts talking about passing around a sign up sheet for people to house the migrants on their own dime.

Now, it's important to note that Naperville, Illinois, is a ridiculously wealthy city: 70% white with a median household income of $143,754.

The average house in Naperville costs well over $500,000 and looks like this:

Can you imagine that crowd taking in illegal immigrants, who are used to living like this, into their fastidiously tidy homes?

Of course it's not just New York and Illinois looking to house illegal immigrants in people‘s private homes.

This idea is being pushed across the nation.

The reactions are pretty much what you'd expect:

And of course, the "you voted for this" response:
