I'm guessing the art of subtlety isn't very big in Washington...

Washington officials recently announced their COVID-19 emergency plan. Great! Always good to be prepared for an emergency that will last for an undetermined amount of time, right?

Oh.

Yep, you read that right. In it's original format*, this emergency plan was given an expiration date of the first week of November.

Oh, what's this? Shutting down the economy and mass hysteria is not going to be as much of a priority after early November? Golly, I'm trying to think of anything important that might coincide with that particular date, but darn it, nothing comes to mind. Certainly not one of the most divisive presidential elections ever!

Yeah. Reeeaal subtle, Washington officials.

*The dates on the emergency plan appear to be updated as of 7/28, with a new expiration date of 11/25, but the original irony is still not lost on me
