The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the federal agency that oversees humanitarian aid to other countries. It has an annual budget topping $50 billion in US taxpayer money and accounts for 50% of all of America's foreign aid.
The agency has been targeted by President Trump and allies like Elon Musk for alleged corruption where politicians use NGOs to launder money and enact their flavor of foreign policy.

There is also concern about how these "humanitarian" dollars are spent. Consider the hundreds of millions of dollars that US taxpayers have given to Gazan authorities, who are almost entirely controlled by the terror organization Hamas.
Now we have proof that, in addition to funding the Taliban, the American people spent money on gender-sensitive training programs in Afghanistan.
What a sound investment, right?
