The local San Antonio news covered the story and interviewed the group of teens.
One obligatory tag-along younger brother and a group of teenagers were out at Topgolf during a tropical storm. Things were getting rough and Tomas Gomez, the teenager in the video, said "Alright, let me hit this last shot" before telling a friend to record him.
None of the kids could have ever imagined what would happen next.
Tomas made the shot and while the ball was traveling at 88mph a bolt of lightning streaked out of the sky and stopped the golf ball dead in its tracks.
Obviously, the teens were so frightened by the lightning strike that they bolted out of there and to safety as fast as they could. Later, when they watched the video back, they realized what had happened and the incredible footage they had captured.
It was truly a miracle that lightning hit the ball and the teens are very lucky the lighting didn't find Tomas who was essentially standing there with a lightning rod in his hand.
After that fright, I'm sure the teens will be a little bit more careful when it comes to messing around during a thunderstorm.
