When someone unlocked the doors of the Capitol Building and allowed a bunch of people and a Viking to shuffle through the statuary hall (being careful to stay within the velvet ropes), it was labelled "insurrection" and "the darkest day" in American history.
What's this then?
Okay, she's probably being metaphorical, right?
I mean, after all, she is the mayor of one of America's most anti-boomstick cities. Somehow I don't think the pink-haired Chicago alphabet squad is gonna try to out-gun the red-state boogaloo boy who has a respectable 10 blasters – for each of his 7 kids – ready to deploy at a moment's notice.

In contrast, during the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol, Lightfoot tweeted, "I am in disbelief with what is unfolding in D.C. right now. President Trump and his enablers incited this violence. Shame on every elected official in Congress and elsewhere who fomented this anti-democratic insurrection by extremists. This is not democracy. This is a disgrace."
Putting aside the fact that the left is not "slippery sloping" all over the place, let's focus in on the facts here.
The pro-life movement spent half a century peacefully protesting, assembling, lobbying, and electing representatives and presidents that would appoint pro-life judges to overturn a snap decision by a bunch of white dudes in 1973. Over the course of 3 generations, they tirelessly worked within the law to turn the issue of infanticide back over to We The People. In the meantime, they watched as 60 million American babies were killed. And yet, as the left is fond of saying, they persisted.
Outside of the abolition of slavery, there is perhaps no greater example of how our constitutional republic and democratic ideals work.
And yet the left, which is supposedly concerned about "democracy," speaks with words of violence. Yes, the people have spoken, but not the right people. And so a "call to arms" is needed.
Tread carefully, Mayor Lightfoot! If you want a civil war, the rednecks are overwhelmingly pro-life, and whoever has them on their side wins!
