Put this headline in the historic books.

For decades, the media's tried-and-true tactic is not to report on a Democrat scandal, but the Republican reaction to it.
By portraying Republicans as the pouncing aggressors, they take heat off the Democrats 👇
Back to the story from the "journalists" at the "objective" Associated Press:
Republicans are seizing on recently unearthed violent rhetoric from Virginia's Democratic candidate for attorney general in a push to re-shape the state's governor's race — and tarnish the Democratic Party nationally — less than a month before Election Day.
What.
A.
Lede.
That's some way to start an article! While I can't see into the hearts of "journalists" Steve Peoples and Olivia Diaz (or their editors) to see their intent, let me give you a theoretical breakdown of the thought process here.
First, they double down on the word "seize" so we REALLY get the idea that Republicans are the instigators.
Second, they frame the problem as the "push to re-shape" a race and "tarnish" the Democrats' reputation.
The late Norm MacDonald had a bit he once told Jerry Seinfeld about the tactic of framing a story around optics instead of the transgression itself 👇
The AP article even hammers home that this is happening "less than a month" before the election as a signal to the reader that this is all a timed political stunt.
The writers are forced to admit, however, that a man who has wished for the murders of his opponents and their children is, well, violent.
The clash over Jones' violent rhetoric, shared in a 2022 private text message exchange published on Friday, comes just four weeks before voters in Virginia and New Jersey choose new state leaders.
Despite this brief interlude into actual journalism, however, the article quickly course-corrects into framing Republicans as the villains.
But how to defend or deflect from Jones' ghastly text messages?
Why, pull out the nuclear option, of course:
...Democrats privately acknowledged that the scandal is at least an unwelcome distraction, in Virginia and beyond — especially as Trump escalates his campaign to cast his political opponents as violent extremists.

This is how they ended the article.
Do you see what they did?
They give slight acknowledgement that wishing for the deaths of children in order to effect political change is a "scandal." They then let us know how difficult those optics are for the poor Democratic Party.
Since the plot demands a villain, however, they offer up Trump - the man the Left regularly compares to Adolf Hitler.
By saying Trump is "escalating" the "campaign" to "cast" his opponents as "violent extremists," they suggest that Trump is the extreme one.
Never mind, dear reader, that Trump's political opponent in this case actually IS a violent extremist who fantasizes about the deaths of those who vote differently than him. 👇
