Did you grow heartily sick of Stacey Abrams's repeated, baseless, neverending claims that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp had somehow "stolen" the 2018 gubernatorial election? Well, buckle up, because the whole sorry charade is coming round again:
Georgia Democrats have grown increasingly pessimistic about Stacey Abrams's chances of ousting Gov. Brian Kemp from office, pointing to her struggles to rally key parts of her party's coalition and her inability to appeal to a slice of moderate Republican voters who can decide the state's elections.
Public and private polls have consistently shown her trailing Mr. Kemp, a Republican seeking a second term. And, in a particularly worrying sign for Ms. Abrams, polls also show she is drawing less support than the other high-profile Democrat on the ballot, Senator Raphael Warnock, who is seeking a first full term.
Wait wait wait. You're telling me STACEY ABRAMS can't "appeal to a slice of moderate Republican voters"?
She's struggling to stick with that demographic??
It cannot be!
It's true, though. Things are looking bleak for the country's most hardworking gubernatorial candidate:
A new InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 Atlanta poll released on Thursday shows incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp is widening his lead over Democrat Stacey Abrams as the race for U.S. Senate flips leads, but remains extremely close.
Kemp picked up a point, but Abrams slipped two points since July's poll. Kemp continues to lead Abrams now with 50% versus her 42%. Libertarian Shane Hazel polled at 1% and another 1% say they plan to support another candidate. Those undecided have grown to 6%.
Kemp watching those numbers like:
It's okay though, Abrams is young, she has a long career ahead of her with many elections for others to steal from her!
