But a robotic-wolf-demon-created-to-scare-bears-away ain't one.
Let's talk about Japan. Beautiful country. Wonderful people. But they've got a bit of a penchant for solving all of their problems with robots, which can be unnerving. And sometimes downright creepy.
Facing the worst streak of wild bear attacks in five years, Japanese farmers are getting creative about keeping the ominous omnivores from sinking their teeth into crops and human limbs. One company, Ohta Seiki, took it to the next level, creating what they call "Monster-Wolf."

Emits 90-decibel roars and moves its neck just like the bears' predator. The company says about 70 "wolves" have been purchased by Japanese farmers in the last three years.

I made a gif so you can play it on an iPad next to your kid's bed at night. You know, to keep the bear away.
