Jay Leno has had a pretty rough few years, most recently just several weeks ago when he took a battering to the face after falling down a hill:
And yet the guy is still out there just doing normal, good, decent work:
Comedian Jay Leno's goal is simple: Feed the people who are 'there to save your life' amid raging fires in the Los Angeles area.
The legendary late night talk show host, 74, cooked up more than $21,000 worth of ribs, chicken and more for the first responders who spent the past week battling flames in Southern California.
'My God, these guys can eat. They went through the whole thing. We need more food,' Leno said. 'So we got more food today. Got more food tomorrow, more food Thursday.'
"These guys can eat." After 50 years of comedy the guy just can't help but crack a joke! 😂
The comedian described the scene in Los Angeles as "heaven and hell, literally, on the same street," describing a landscape where "over here, there's nothing, and over here, it's just the chimneys that are standing." He also described the horrific crisis as "on the scale of 9/11."
Still, he said the community had pulled together amid the devastation:
'It doesn't matter what sign you have on your lawn. You know, it's come down to neighbors caring for one another,' Leno said.
'I haven't heard one political opinion. I just heard people ask, "How can we save this?'" he added.
Glad to see a good man doing his part to save it.
