This wasn't a mistake. Swalwell actually believes this. He thinks it's "stupid" for parents to have any control over what their children learn in school. He's letting the mask slip.

News flash: As a parent, a taxpayer, a citizen, an investor in the public school system — whatever the case, yes, you have a say in your child's education. Don't let anyone ever tell you you don't.

Of course, there are many ways to educate your child: Public school, private school, charter school, homeschool. Pick the best one for your kid and your family. But don't ever let anyone tell you that you're somehow bereft of any claims over the things your child is learning in the classroom. You're not!

Your authority does not stop at the classroom. Sorry Eric!
