The Tipton Gas Bar in Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island recently had an early-morning shoplifter when a bear wandered into the store and perused the merchandise.
Jay deGoesbriand, who owns the store with his wife Karen, was the only person there at the time, but the door was propped open.
The curious bear very calmly walked in, meandered past rows of cold sandwiches and candy bars and only touched one thing: a bag of gummy bears.
After stealing the gummy bears, the bear proceeded to take the candy bears out to the parking lot and eat them while the store owner looked on.
DeGoesbriand told the Vancouver Sun,
This little bugger has the nerve to sit at the end of my driveway, look at me and eat it.
The bear was not aggressive at all, and apparently just had a craving for gummy bears specifically, and strangely seemed to know just where to find them in the convenience store!
