Last year Nancy Pelosi refused to condemn rioters and now she's baffled—baffled, I tell you!—at the "attitude of lawlessness" around the country 🤔

Perhaps you remember, amid the destructive riots throughout last year's long hot summer, a mob of rioters toppling a Christopher Columbus statue in Baltimore. And maybe you remember Nancy Pelosi—who was born and raised in Baltimore—not really caring at all about it:

"If the community doesn't want the statue there, the statue shouldn't be there," she said, skipping over the rule of law. "I don't care that much about the statues."

When one reporter pushed back on Pelosi, suggesting it would be better for the City Council to remove the statue than a "mob in the middle of the night," the congresswoman said: "People will do what they do."

Now, nearly a year and a half later, Pelosi herself is just completely flummoxed that criminals throughout the country are—what's the phrase?—doing what they do:

"It's absolutely outrageous. Obviously it cannot continue," Pelosi said. "But the fact is that there is an attitude of lawlessness in our country that springs from I don't know where… and we cannot have that lawlessness become the norm."

Amen, Madam Speaker!

At last we have a Speaker of the House who understands the critical need for law and order throughout the country. Finally, leadership in Washington is recognizing that if you give criminals free reign of your cities, they will turn those cities into violent wastelands full of misery and despair!

It's a shame she didn't grasp this pretty simple concept last summer but better late than never!
