Louisiana will now castrate child rapists and Reddit is very mad for some reason

A bit of good news out of the Bayou State this week:

As of Thursday, August 1, for the first time in the country's history, child rapists can now be ordered by a judge to have their testicles removed if the victim is under the age of 13 and if the offender is older than 17 years old. The law already allowed judges to issue an order of chemical castration.

"At the end of the day I hope that kids know that they can feel safer because there will be some real tough penalty actions that will occur when somebody violates their innocence," said the bill's author Sen. Regina Barrow (D-Baton Rouge).

Every normal person on learning that child rapists will get neutered for their crimes:

But for some reason, the comments section on Reddit is, well, not too crazy about it:

  • They're just hoping they can use our hatred of pedos to give them a power they shouldn't have. ...

  • [Blaspheme], this is the most nazi-esque "final solution" [expletive] the right has pulled yet. ...

  • Governments cant be trusted with corporal punishment. There are too many [expletives] in the process and the system to allow the govt to decide who lives who dies who has balls who does not. ...

  • Louisiana's entire criminal justice system is just completely awful. ...

  • [Child sexual abuse] is one of the worst possible crimes but this is still a bad thing. We should, to the greatest possible extent, limit our government's ability to violate bodily autonomy.

  • [M]orally it's on a level with chopping hands off for theft.

You just gotta ask all these people:

These are the same nincompoops who would defend castrating a kid in the name of the gender cult.

We are talking about convicted child rapists. Castration is merciful compared to what I'd recommend for a punishment.

Either:

Or:

The idea that child rape is morally equivalent to theft is unconscionable. Painlessly castrating some of the worst criminals in society in order to prevent them from harming other children is a lot different from lopping off someone hand for stealing bread.

But this is how the AlwaysOnline™ people over at Reddit respond:

What a place to live where the punishers are worse criminals than the criminals.

Don't listen to these weirdos, Louisiana. Don't back down.
