You may remember the story about this kid, who switched genders and won himself gold in the Maine girls' pole vault state championship.
You may also remember Republican Laurel Libby being censured by the Maine legislature for defending the girls who were denied first place.

Well, on Saturday a bunch of normal people in Maine held a protest outside of the state house -- a "March Against Mills," the governor who "stood up to Trump," and said she'd still allow boys to compete with girls.
Even more impressive, the people of Maine came together to create a few first-place medals for the female students who were robbed of the prize by a boy.

It seems the girls tied, which would've been an interesting story in itself had the boy not beaten them.
These new medals were truly deserved, and the only thing that could've made it better is if these plaques were created in advance of the competition and the activists would've handed them out immediately after the boy had stolen first place.
Maybe next time, but these medals are a great start!
I'll leave you with a few more of the speeches given over the weekend at the March Against Mills:
