To be sure, yes, DeSantis did sweep Dade County in 2022. It was a fantastic upset. He did unexpectedly very well.

But you know why? Because people were primed to be sick of Democratic policies there. For years they've been crushed under the weight of the Democrat playbook and they're sick of it.

I mean, look: Here are the presidential results from Dade in 2016:

Very lopsided in favor of Democrats, obviously. Here, meanwhile, are the 2020 results:

A much closer race. Clearly something shifted over the preceding four years. So it's not at all unbelievable that the 2022 gubernatorial results looked like this:
