The race to build the tallest tower of M&Ms reached new highs this week as an Iraqi man balanced seven of the tiny candies atop one another.
Ibrahim Sadeq performed the odds-defying feat and beat the previous Guinness World record of six stacked by Brendan Kelbie last year, according to Guinness World Records.
The very first M&M stacker to enter the Guinness World Records was Silvio Sabba, who managed to stack four of the little round candies, and ever since then Guinness has received multiple applications to attempt to beat this record every year.
The new record holder, Sadeq, says that he started balancing objects 6 years ago.
I could possibly balance anything, but it gets really tough with light objects or liquids..
Sadeq also holds the Guinness World record for balancing eggs on the back of one hand: 18 eggs, which is arguably more impressive than stacking M&Ms.
While I have neither tried to stack M&Ms nor eggs, the risk of clean up with eggs makes it more exciting somehow. Of course, I'm sure it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Now, that the stacked M&Ms record has reached seven, one can only wonder how long before we're at a whopping eight.
Is there no limit to human achievement?
