No joke: The Martha's Vineyard folks are out there pretending to be pro-immigration as if they didn't deport all the illegals that Ron DeSantis sent them.
Now that they don't actually have to house any of said illegals, the rich island residents are back to virtue signaling.
No really, look at all the rich white liberal ladies and their signs!
From the Martha's Vineyard Times:
Ralliers held signs reading 'I pledge to resist,' and 'Protect people, resist hate,' as the occasional driver offered honks of support during the two-hour demonstration.
Marina Kaufman told reporters,
'We have to protect these people because they are part of the workforce of the Vineyard. And they're human beings,' she said. 'They have children in schools, they're scared. And it breaks my heart, it really does.'
Bill Bridwell told reporters,
'It's the grabbing of people in their homes, taking them, and shipping them out to countries where they haven't been in years and years, you know,' he said. 'I can understand if someone has committed some sort of crime, they should be dealt with… But a lot of these people are hardworking individuals who are trying to make a living, they pay taxes and they're good neighbors.'
Do these folks think illegal and legal immigrants are essentially the same?
But that's not the end of the stupidity. It's also pretty clear they have no idea what any of the other leftwing talking points are.
One of the protesters had a flyer that read:
Let's not forget, just a few years ago, DEI was a compelling policy adopted across industries and government to address inequities of opportunity. We must ask ourselves, have those inequities been addressed? Are we now all of a sudden a colorblind society? I contend we are not.
A color-blind society?
That's the complete opposite of DEI.
The woke folks even changed the dictionary definition of "color blind" to suggest it's a dog whistle. 👇
