Two Fulton, Missouri, police officers were out on patrol when they smelled smoke emitting from their vehicle.
The officers quickly pulled over to the most logical place a vehicle engulfed in flames should be parked — a gas station.
See for yourself!
Here's the official statement from the police department:
At approximately 6:14 PM on 1/4/25, two Fulton Police Officers noticed a burning odor inside their vehicle. They pulled off the road at Route F and Amerihost Drive into a parking lot to investigate. As they exited the vehicle, it immediately became fully engulfed in flames. There was no damage to any property other than the Fulton patrol car and there were no injuries to the officers or anyone else. The vehicle and its contents are a total loss. The Fulton Fire Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire which appeared to have started in the rear of the vehicle where electronic equipment is mounted.
A parking lot on Route F and Amerihost Dr, you say?
Guess what Google maps shows there:
And that pump is a ways from the main road.
You aren't even allowed to light up a ciggy near a gas pump, but I guess a flaming car is a-ok!
