This is the biggest thing Dell has done since the late '90s.

This investment will be one of the largest private contributions to Americans in history.

Susan: 'Next year, every American child will be able to get an investment account powered by Invest America.'

Michael: 'We've seen what happens when a child gets even a small financial head start. Their world expands.'

Susan: 'The real power of these accounts is that anyone can contribute. Parents, relatives, friends, everyone can help shape a child's future.'

The $6.25 billion will add to Trump's plan to give American children $1,000 each in an investment account. Trump's plan, approved by Congress earlier this year, gives Americans born between January 1, 2025, and the end of 2028 a $1,000 investment account.

Dell's contribution adds to this by giving eligible children (up to 25 million) under the age of 10 a $250 account.

(My 11 year old is going to be devastated.)

In order to be eligible, families must also live in zip codes where the median income is less than $150,000. This is expected to include 80% of all kids age 10 and under.

Trump was happy:

So were some big names on the internet:

Because compound interest is fun, let's do a little math.

My youngest is two years old. If she gets $250 now and my family invests another $250 annually for the next 16 years until she is 18, she would have around $8,000 at a 7% return rate.

But here's where it gets fun.

The government will let you donate $5,000 a year to these "Trump Accounts." Say Not the Bee's amazing subs keep our site growing and that allows me to invest that annually in my daughter's account. When she is 18, she would have $140,000 in the account.

Oh, and if she just left the money in there for her whole life until she was 65 without contributing a single penny more, she'd have $3,500,000.
