If you can't beat him, cheat him!

The Minnesota Supreme Court on Thursday is set to begin hearings on a case that would remove Donald Trump from the 2024 election ballot as the former president leads in the polls to retake the White House.

Colorado has also taken up a similar case which would effectively leave Trump off the ballot.

The lawsuits in both states allege Trump should be barred from the 2024 ballot for his conduct leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. They argue Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which says no one who has "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" after swearing an oath to support and defend the Constitution can hold office.

This case comes from the "Free Speech for People" left-wing activist group.

Yes, a group named "Free Speech" is suing to keep Donald Trump off the ballot because they don't like what he said after the 2020 election.

Yes, this Constitutional provision meant to keep Confederate politicians from taking office after the Civil War is being used to attempt to keep Donald Trump from running again.

All because he challenged the results of the last election.

They legit want to make him out to be an insurrectionist.

Donald Trump himself is not on trial in Minnesota. The Democrat secretary of state in Minnesota is the defendant in this case. He already rejected the activists' plea to keep Trump off the ballot, saying he couldn't determine an individual's eligibility for the White House.

In addition to Colorado and Minnesota, activists in New Hampshire, Arizona, and Michigan are suing to keep Donald Trump from running in their states.

Because the only way to protect free speech is to punish Trump for speaking freely, and the only way to protect duh-macracy is to make sure the candidates you don't like are not allowed to run!
