Okay, this is awful.
In May, Olivia Flores, an 18-year-old Minnesota cheerleader, was struck and killed by a state trooper who had multiple violations on his record and a history of reckless driving.
This beautiful young lady, no longer with us.
Upon a review of the trooper's disciplinary record, it was found that 32-year-old officer Shane Roper, who struck Olivia's car while going 83 mph in a 40 mph zone, was involved with four prior crashes while driving his squad car.
Here's a shot of his cruiser after the crash:
Question: Why was this guy allowed on the road at all, let alone in a police car?
The officer, who is pleading "not guilty" on all charges of reckless driving and manslaughter, claims he was trying to catch up to another car he suspected of a traffic violation. He has now been terminated from the police force.
Olivia's family has called for an investigation, saying:
It is heartbreaking and unacceptable to the Flores family that the State of Minnesota allowed Trooper Roper to be on the road in a Minnesota State Patrol squad car after knowing that he posed a clear danger to others.
A little sidebar here before we leave this story:
Since 2020, under Governor Tim Walz, and as a result of the "defund the police" movement, the Minneapolis police force has shrunk by 1/3.
This is what happens when you let racial activists and anarcho-communists like Walz take over your state. The good police leave for greener pastures, and you're only left with bad apples.
Olivia's family, who was planning her graduation, instead had to plan her funeral.
They have set up a GoFundMe for anyone who'd like to support them.
