Let's check in on democracy in Mogadishu Minneapolis, shall we?
Omar Fateh, a second generation Somali immigrant who is running for mayor in Minneapolis, was endorsed earlier this year by the DFL (Democrat-Farmer-Laborer Party) in Minnesota.
They chose to give their endorsement to Fateh over incumbent mayor Jacob Frey, the incumbent who allowed/endorsed/celebrated the Floyd riots in his city in 2020.
But the party thought twice.
We covered part of this here:
So, according to the Minneapolis Democrats the vote to endorse Fateh was held under dubious circumstances. A bunch of the most radical members of the DFL, and a lot of Somalis, I'm sure, got together to push through the endorsement for Fateh.
And now, because of the alleged shadiness, the DFL has overturned the endorsement.
The beneficiary of this recount, Mayor Frey, is of course pleased with the outcome.
But you better believe there's one Minnesota-Somali who is very, very upset.
So, now we've got two sides of the party openly fighting one another in a very public manner, and the primary is still happening.

What a glorious time to be alive.
Democrats across the country are in absolute shambles right now.
If this fight keeps up, maybe Tampon Tim will have to race down and settle this dispute himself.
