University of Missouri Professor Anthony Lupo ran a weather page on Facebook only weather buffs might care about, reporting how much daily temperatures deviate from historical norms.

But when he brought up La Niña as a common reason for an increase in the number of tornadoes, a climate-change cultist disagreed and started an argument. The media had told him/her that fossil fuels are the reason for extreme weather, and there could be no other explanation.

Lupo is an atmospheric scientist and college professor, so arguing with him about weather on social media is kind of crazy, but that's the world we live in.

The morning after the interaction, he awoke to find himself locked out of his Facebook account.

From the College Fix:

Sunday morning I found that my personal Facebook account was locked, and I had a message from Meta … to show me how to unlock my account, which I did.

It's happened before.

‘I would get this warning that your post may violate community standards and that would appear on the page itself for a short time,' he said.

He said it was confusing, as he was just informing people whether the temperature was above or below normal, almost saying nothing about climate change itself.

He was literally posting numbers.

Here's his recap of the point he made on Facebook that got him booted:

‘How climate change fits in with tornadoes is difficult to say because tornadoes are notoriously difficult to gauge trends by. To count tornadoes you got to have somebody to see it. So, if you look at tornado numbers, they're generally biased to where you have a [large] population and-or radars.

‘A hundred years ago, the weather bureau thought that [the] normal amount of tornadoes in the United States was 100. Today we know it's 1200.' This, he said, is partly because we have more people, as well as new technologies.

Regardless of his education and beliefs when he reactivated his account, he found that his weather page had been completely deleted with no explanation and no appeal process.

Facebook says that it doesn't delete posts or accounts because of climate change denials, but clearly, someone nixed his page. The College Fix attempted to puzzle through other reasons for the ban and reached out to the company, but received no response.

Despite Mark Zuckerberg supposedly becoming a free-speech advocate again, there are still a lot of Facebook goons lingering in the woke trenches. Short of a Elon-Musk style cleansing, sharing a rational thought is still a dangerous game to play over there.
