Okay this is a tad bit creepy...

So this dude, Jonathan Lewis, moves into his new home in Liverpool and notices a void underneath the stairs that's been boarded up. He owns the house now, so he just goes ahead and takes a hammer to it. Once he's got a big enough hole to see inside, he notices a rag doll sitting on a small chair holding a note.

Okay, creepy. At this point I'd be freaked out for sure.

So he grabs the note and reads it.

Dear reader/new house owner

Thank you for freeing me!

My name is Emily, my original owners lived in this house in 1961. I didn't like them so they had to go. All they did was sing and be merry it was sickening. Stabbing was my choice of death for them so I hope you have knives.

Hope you sleep well

Again, creepy. But if you look at the note it looks like it was written a week ago. So this is obviously a joke.

A very fun joke.

The new homeowner finds it hilarious, too:

'Some of my friends have told me to put my house back on the market and move out but I think it's just a laugh.'

The teacher added: 'I'll be honest, I found the whole thing hilarious. I'd probably do the exact same thing.'

And Jonathan Lewis is going right along with the joke. He's having a Halloween party next month and he says he'll leave Emily sitting right in her original position, note and all. She'll be the main attraction.

I love this. People can be crazy/amazing.
